Welcome to UBISOFT, a world leader in the production, publication and distribution of interactive games and content. UBISOFT is committed to providing the public with high-quality games and content, which are both innovative and safe.
This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) is designed to underline our commitment to privacy and to keeping personal data belonging to users of UBISOFT’s websites and games confidential (the “Users”). At UBISOFT we only collect the data we need to operate our business and to respond to your queries. We do so in accordance with the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 (the “EU General Data Privacy Regulation” or “GDPR”).
As defined in the GDPR, personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual who is or can be identified either directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, identification number, location data or online identifier (the “Personal Data”).
By registering with UBISOFT, you consent to us processing your Personal Data in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you are unhappy with this Privacy Policy, please do not use any of UBISOFT’s online games or game functionalities, websites, mobile apps or other online products and services (the “Services”).
The Data Controller responsible for processing data collected under this Privacy Policy is UBISOFT. Our head office is located at 261 rue de Paris, 93100 Montreuil, France.
UBISOFT may collect and store Personal Data about you during certain processes, including but not restricted to when you:
(1) browse or play our Services,
(2) create a user account (the “User Account”),
(3) pay for an online Service,
(4) watch an advertisement on our Services or those of our partners,
(5) create User-generated content,
(6) sign up to an e-newsletter,
(7) contact UBISOFT,
(8) take part in a competition,
(9) interact with other Users in a discussion space or forum,
(10) want to take part in a beta version test or download patches or demos,
(11) share or contribute in any way to our pages and chains on social media or other websites.
UBISOFT also uses your Personal Data to operate and improve its Services. This data is used by UBISOFT alone and allows UBISOFT to better tailor its Services to User expectations. UBISOFT may duplicate some of your Personal Data in its databases for technical reasons or for any other reason indicated in this Privacy Policy.
In the event of manifest abuse by service Users, UBISOFT may block certain User Accounts, IP addresses or console IDs provided by the manufacturers of licensed equipment. The console’s IP address and ID may be used to identify you in order to ensure that you are complying with UBISOFT’s Terms of Use and Terms of Sale.
Connection data. Each time you connect to one of our Services, UBISOFT passively collects information including, in particular but not restricted to, your IP address and your computer’s MAC address, the ID of your console, mobile terminal, tablet or other peripheral, your Internet service provider, your operating system, localisation data, the date and time of connection and information about your browser.
Browsing data. UBISOFT also collects information which allows us to identify how you connect to Internet sites, the pages you visit and for how long.
Cookies. UBISOFT may use cookies on its sites and Services. A ‘cookie’ is a small file stored on your computer which records certain information. Cookies do not contain your name or any other information that can be used to identify you directly. They are generally used to quickly identify a user’s computer and to ‘remember’ the user’s past visits. UBISOFT may install cookies for your web browser when you visit our sites, use our Services or visit a site for which UBISOFT provides advertisements or content or carries out use analysis. These cookies are designed to improve the quality of your browsing experience on UBISOFT sites and to tailor the advertisements you receive on UBISOFT web pages or in its games to your interests. Some Services require you to create a User Account before you start. When you create this User Account you will be asked to provide the following mandatory information: username and password, email address and date of birth. You will also have to create a User Account if you want to take part in a beta test or download a demo of a UBISOFT game.
Once you have created your User Account, you will be able to link it to the User Accounts of your friends and children by providing their username and dates of birth.
Unless you object, UBISOFT may send you newsletters about new products, service and special offers by email.
With your consent, UBISOFT may also send your Personal Data to companies and organisations which offer products and services that might interest you. You may withdraw this consent at any time.
UBISOFT will use your first and last names, email address and date of birth to answer any queries you may send to UBISOFT’s Customer Service department, to confirm information and all the transactions on your Account and to give you information about our Services (e.g. if you lose your password or we change our Conditions of Use).
UBISOFT regularly offers its users the opportunity to respond to questionnaires and take part in surveys and online competitions. If you take part, you will be asked to provide your first and last names, email address, date of birth, postal address and country.
We will only use this Personal Data in connection with your participation in these competitions, surveys and questionnaires and to compile statistics for internal use.
When you communicate and interact with other Users in a discussion space or forum, UBISOFT collects the content of your messages, the time at and the place from which they are sent and your online ID and IP address.
UBISOFT uses your date of birth and age to filter access to its forums and instant messaging systems depending on the official classification. UBISOFT cannot supervise all discussion spaces and makes no commitment to do so. However, UBISOFT reserves the right to delete all content relating to your messages without notice at its discretion. UBISOFT may use any data collected in this manner to enforce its Conditions of Use, comply with the law, protect its rights and those of its subsidiaries and other users and to ensure the safety of its employees and users. This data may be sent to any competent administrative or legal authority in compliance with the applicable statutory provisions.
UBISOFT may also collect Personal Data via social networks or other platforms (in particular consoles) belonging to third parties. By playing or signing in to our Services via a social network or another platform, you authorise UBISOFT (1) to collect, store and use in accordance with this Privacy Policy the information you have agreed to supply via the social network or third-party platform in question based on your confidentiality settings on this social network or third-party platform and (2) to share this information with this social network or third-party platform via the social network or third-party platform’s API.
You give your consent when you connect to a social network or third-party platform via our products and/or Services and when you connect by clicking on the ‘Agree’ or ‘Authorise’ (or any other similarly named) button in one of our applications on a social network or third-party platform.
If you register to take part in a UBISOFT game on a console distributed by a third party, your username and password for that console will be sent to UBISOFT so that UBISOFT can create a User Account for you. You need a UBISOFT Account to use UBISOFT’s online games. The information sent to UBISOFT is your username and password, email address, date of birth and country.
Certain Services provide tools and content which enable you to create and/or share original content. UBISOFT may collect this user-generated content, which will be regarded as Personal Data if you include in it Personal Data about you or another person (e.g. your name or image). Under no circumstances may UBISOFT be held liable for the prejudicial consequences of disclosing user-generated content.
When you use our services, UBISOFT reserves the right to collect and register your game data (including but not restricted to game levels reached, prizes, playing time, classifications, game missions carried out, statistics, use of different functionalities of the Services, conversion rates, monetisation rates, buying history and other similar data) to improve our Services and their quality and to tailor them to your interests and so improve your gaming experience. All data collected by UBISOFT as set out in this section 1 may be used in aggregated form or to identify certain types of Service use.
Some of our Services allow you to make purchases, either on UBISOFT sites or directly in UBISOFT games.
If you do so, you agree to allow UBISOFT to use external service providers who will collect your Personal Data to ensure the smooth operation of credit card payment processing and product delivery services, the awarding of prizes and the distribution of free products as part of special offers.
When you pay for a purchase, in order for your payment to be processed you will have to provide your first and last names, postal address, email address and country, and your payment details, i.e. payment card number, cardholder’s name, card expiry date and security code.
We will keep the details of your payments and of any purchases you make at UBISOFT. These transaction details are held either by UBISOFT or by an external provider where UBISOFT uses one. They are kept for internal purposes, including internal audits, and for accounting, compliance and legal purposes, as set out in section 4 of this Privacy Policy.
You may be asked to provide the name of your telephone provider, the model of your mobile phone and mobile phone number so that you can give purchase instructions directly via your mobile phone. UBISOFT displays advertising, in particular for its Services, on the pages of its websites and mobile applications and on those of its partners. UBISOFT may compile information relating to the advertising links you (or anyone using your terminals) clicks on using cookies in order to adapt the advertising you see to your interests.
UBISOFT uses third-party ad serving technologies which may collect information on our Services and may temporarily display ads in our Services or in their own spaces. Data collected and used for targeted advertising includes account-related information such as your age, sex and email address.

UBISOFT processes your Personal Data when necessary to:
- Provide Services (User Account creation, online payments, etc.). This processing is necessary for the performance of the contract you enter into with UBISOFT when you accept UBISOFT’s Terms of Use and Terms of Sale.
- Offer Users the best possible experience and improve its Services (bug detection, game data analysis, anti-fraud measures, etc.). In such cases it is in UBISOFT’s legitimate interests to process your Personal Data.
- Provide additional services (marketing, etc.). UBISOFT will always obtain your consent before processing your Personal Data in this way.
To protect your Personal Data, UBISOFT has put in place a range of technical and organisational security measures designed to ensure its security, integrity and confidentiality. However, no internet transmission or electronic storage method guarantees 100% security. As a result, UBISOFT is unable to offer an absolute guarantee of security for your Personal Data.
If your Accounts and Personal Data are password protected, you must ensure that your password remains confidential. Do not give it to anyone else. If you use a shared computer, make sure you log out before leaving our services.
Unless the law specifies a different storage period, UBISOFT will only keep your Personal Data for the time strictly necessary to carry out the processing described in this Privacy Policy.
UBISOFT will keep your Personal Data in a data archive for the applicable statutory limitation periods. For example, UBISOFT may keep certain Personal Data after your account is closed for the period required to protect UBISOFT’s rights in the event of legal or administrative proceedings.

When you browse on UBISOFT websites or use UBISOFT Services, external service providers may collect Personal Data in the name and on behalf of UBISOFT. UBISOFT may share certain items of your Personal Data with its technical partners to ensure the smooth running of its Services, product delivery, the awarding of prizes and distribution of free products during special offers, to process debit and credit card payments and for other Services provided by UBISOFT.
UBISOFT will never share your Personal Data with third-party companies for marketing and/or sales purposes without first obtaining your consent or allowing you to object. You may withdraw your consent for us to share your Personal Data at any time.
In accordance with the applicable legislation, UBISOFT may be required to disclose your Personal Data to administrative or legal authorities where this is necessary to identify, question or take legal action against an individual who may be infringing rights held by UBISOFT, another User or a third party. Finally, UBISOFT may be required to disclose Personal Data by law, in which case it has no choice but to comply.
Third parties may be allowed access to your Personal Data for negotiation purposes prior to the assignment or all or part of UBISOFT’s business. If all or part of UBISOFT’s assets are transferred, your Personal Data, including Personal Data relating to Minors, may be transferred to the transferee or merging company.
We may transfer your Personal Data to companies in the Ubisoft Group and to UBISOFT’s subsidiaries, subcontractors and/or partners located outside the European Union.
If we transfer your Personal Data to companies based in countries which the European Commission does not consider ensure an adequate level of data protection, UBISOFT will do so under one of the model contracts for the transfer of personal data issued by the European Commission. UBISOFT regards as a Minor any User under the age of majority stipulated in the applicable local data protection legislation (between 13 and 16 depending on the country) (“Minors”).
UBISOFT pays special attention to Minors and in particular to ensuring that they are able to browse safely on UBISOFT games and Services. UBISOFT recommends that parents and legal guardians be present when Minors use the Internet.
Minors residing in the European Union are not permitted to create User Accounts to access our Services without the prior consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Parents and legal guardians can use a dedicated interface to create a ‘Parent Account’ and manage their Minor’s Account at any time.
When a Minor accesses a discussion space or forum, their parents or legal guardians can choose between two instant messaging modes: (i) ‘normal chat’, which prevents children from entering Personal Data and sharing it with other Users and filters words and phrases defined as being unacceptable in order to block harmful or insulting content; and (ii) ‘safe chat’, which restricts communication between Minors to a group of preselected phrases. ‘Report abuse’ links are also provided for the use of parents, legal guardians and Minors to assist them in ensuring the safety of UBISOFT sites, discussion spaces and forums.
Consent given by a parent or legal guardian applies only to the UBISOFT site or sites for which it has been given. In any event, UBISOFT reserves the right to restrict the access of Minors to all of part of a UBISOFT site.
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, you have a right of access to your Personal Data, a right to ask for it to be rectified or erased, a right to restriction of processing, a right to data portability and a right to object to the processing of your Personal Data. UBISOFT undertakes to respond to you within one month of receipt of your request. In accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation, however, UBISOFT reserves the right to extend this period to two months in case of particularly complex or numerous requests. You will be informed of the reason for the extension within one month of receipt of your request.
Where UBISOFT has asked for your consent to process Personal Data about you (for marketing purposes, etc.), you may withdraw your consent at any time. This withdrawal of consent will not affect the legality of any processing carried out prior to the date of withdrawal.
In case of dispute, you have the right to make a complaint to the supervisory authority in your country.
UBISOFT reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time and recommends that you consult it on a regular basis.
Using our Services following such a change means that you accept these changes. If you do not agree to substantial changes made to this Privacy Policy you should stop using UBISOFT’s Services.
